Femto Pulse System
In comparison to other non-denaturing gel-based analytical instruments, the Femto Pulse System stands out by achieving significantly higher sensitivity for nucleic acid smears and fragments. This capability enables the detection of low-abundance samples, making it an ideal instrument for highly sensitive analysis of RNA or cfDNA samples.

제품 정보
- Broad sizing range – Separate high molecular weight DNA smears and fragments through 165 kb in about 1.5 hours.
- Femtogram level sensitivity – Detect nucleic acids down to 50 fg/µL, achieving 10 times higher sensitivity for nucleic acid smears and up to 100 times higher for nucleic acid fragments.
- Streamlined workflows – Replace pulsed-field gel electrophoresis with the automated capillary electrophoresis to speed up long-read NGS library preparation and BAC analysis.
- Simple sample preparation – Minimize sample degradation with fewer pipetting steps and stable reagents.
- Large sample capacity – Hold up to three, 96-well sample trays at once, allowing to program the unattended separation of up to 288 samples.
- Low sample volume – Use only 2 µL of precious sample and achieve superior detection with unparalleled sensitivity.

The Femto Pulse helps us to reliably evaluate the quality of genomic DNA in an easy and straight forward way. Since the quality of the input material is the bottle neck of NGS applications, it gives us the possibility to optimize our protocols effectively, especially for applications like Oxford Nanopore.

The Femto Pulse definitely filled an existing gap in quality control (QC) for RNA and DNA. Especially from chromatin immune precipitated (ChIP) samples it was very difficult to draw some conclusions in QC with previous QC methods because of the very low amounts (low picogram range) usually provided by the user/customers. The pulse field function of the Femto Pulse makes it a very useful tool to judge on the quality of input samples and libraries for Nanopore and PacBio sequencing.

I couldn’t imagine how our daily lives in the lab would be without the Femto Pulse instruments, or how we would be advancing in our different projects. It came in at the perfect time. It takes five to 15 minutes to prepare the instrument and then the rest is really flexible, so we can run a lot of samples. Also, the ProSize is quite an amazing software. We can combine samples, superimpose, compare, change the scales, and play with the baseline.
