Gaskets for ConFlat Flanges
The ConFlat flange was patented by Agilent, formerly Varian and is now the industry standard for ultra-high vacuum flanges. The flange uses a knife edge seal to bite into the gasket forming a seal suitable for UHV/XHV.
Copper Gaskets are made from electronic grade OFHC copper with 99.99% purity. When frequent bake out is required, silver plated gaskets are recommended to reduce surface oxidation which helps prevent system contamination. Select annealed copper gaskets for viewports with lower torque requirements. FKM gaskets are not designed for baking or UHV.
