Mismatch repair gene hPMS2 is a ubiquitous gene encoding the mismatch repair protein (MMR) known as Postmeiotic Segregation Increased 2 (PMS2). PMS2 is utilized by normal proliferating cells to repair point mutations that may occur during DNA replication. Antibodies to PMS2 are a useful aid for classification of colorectal cancer.
