J&W HP-5ms is a (5%-phenyl)-methylpolysiloxane phase capillary column with very low bleed characteristics, ideal for GC/MS. HP-5ms capillary column is bonded, crosslinked, and solvent rinseable, and has excellent inertness for active compounds, including acidic and basic compounds, with improved signal-to-noise ratio for better sensitivity and mass spectral integrity.
Equivalent to USP phase G27, it delivers excellent performance across a range of applications.
As mass spectrometry continues to push the boundaries of sensitivity and speed, you need a column that can do the same. J&W Ultra Low-Bleed (Q) GC/MS columns combine Ultra Inert technology and ultra low-bleed technology to deliver optimal performance and productivity for GC/MS applications. HP-5Q and DB-5Q columns provide superior data quality, fast conditioning, and outstanding column durability so you get the most from your MS.

The broad portfolio of Agilent columns that are available is really a key aspect in developing methods. What is also very important is that we have a broad range of lengths, internal diameters and film thicknesses.
Learn about GC techniques and approaches that can improve performance and productivity, and get information about some of the more common troubleshooting and maintenance procedures for your GC instruments.
The new J&W 5Q columns combine Agilent's industry-leading Ultra Inert performance with Ultra Low-Bleed technology, delivering the new standard for MS column performance and productivity. 5Q columns provide exceptional peak symmetry and minimal column bleed enabling high sensitivity, mass spectral integrity, and accurate quantitation for the most challenging, trace-level analytes. 5Q columns are also designed to optimize sample throughput with fast conditioning and outstanding durability even at high operating temperatures.
2024 is the 50th anniversary of Agilent J&W GC columns. Throughout the last five decades, Agilent’s industry-first innovations have set the standard for the GC columns we know today. Agilent J&W also has the industry’s most extensive and innovative GC column portfolio, and every step of our manufacturing process is well established and controlled.
