Human myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a 150 kDa tetrameric polypeptide consisting of 2 covalently linked subunits of 59 kDa and 2 subunits of 15 kDa. It is a lysosomal enzyme present in the azurophilic granules of neutrophils and at lower levels in monocytes
