Software Status Bulletin
Agilent Drivers for Chromeleon 7
Known Problem Report as of Nov 18 2024 4:00AM
Preface
-------------------------
This Software Status Bulletin (SSB) documents all known problems in the software
product designated above. The SSB is derived from Known Problem Reports (KPR)
which result from user problems that have been classified as documentation
problems or software defects. When a KPR is written, an identifying number is
assigned to it, and the KPR is added to the next edition of the SSB.
User inputs that have been classified as Enhancement Requests are not documented
in the SSB. User problems that have been submitted, but that have not been
classified by the time the SSB is generated are not included in the SSB.
How to use the SSB
-------------------------
When you experience a problem with a product, first check this SSB to see if the
problem has been reported already, and if there is a temporary workaround
available for the problem, or if the problem has already been fixed by a new
revision. If the problem is not listed in this SSB then you may wish to report
it to the Response Center or to your field support representative.
To determine if your problem is documented in this SSB, first look in the
Keyword Index section of the SSB. Under each keyword is a listing of one-line
descriptions of related KPRs. If any of these sound like yours, locate the KPR
# in the Known Problem Reports section of the SSB, and read the full KPR. The
KPRs in the Known Problem Reports section are sorted by KPR #.
There are two sections in the SSB:
Keyword Index: This index is categorized by keyword. For each KPR there is a
brief description and a KPR #. A KPR may be associated with more than one
keyword.
Known Problem Reports: This section contains KPRs, with all the available
information relevant to the problem. KPRs in this section are sorted by KPR #.

One-line Description:
Signal online plot does not honor precision of curves
Problem:
The signal online plot is showing the signal curves and displays the current measured value. The shown value are shown with no digit after the comma, values from 0-0.49 are rounded down to 0, while 0.5 up to 0.99 are rounded to 1.

One-line Description:
HS 7697 The instrument status event feed is inactive/active
Problem:
Network interruptions or HS power-cycle can lead to repeated status event feed inactive/active entries in the log.
Temporary Solution:
The message itself does not affect the connection and the runs, but the root cause of the message (network interruption or power-cycle) should be avoided. The message disappears after rebooting the instrument controller.

Keyword:
One-line Description:
Position and volume limits not updated in existing sequence
Problem:
The issue is tracked at Thermo Fisher as: 15434: The Injection Volume range in a previously created Sequence does not get updated if the driver's maximum injection volume changes 23762: VCH: Modifying sequence table using position of new trays put in the VCH is not possible
Temporary Solution:
Ensure that all positions and volumes used in a sequence are within the physical capabilities of the instrument.

Pressing stop button not propagated to CDS
Problem:
After pressing the stop button on the Intuvo, the instrument aborts the run and returns in to ready state. The run diagnostic data is reported in the audit trail, but no message that the run was aborted is printed in the audit trail. Chromeleon still acquires data after pressing the stop button until the run ends.

Temporary Solution:
Do not edit the processing method of a running sequence.
Fix Information:
Fixed by Thermo Scientific in Chromeleon 7.3.2.

One-line Description:
Limitation of eWorkflows for dual simultaneous injections
Problem:
Using a GC without a sample tray in eWorkflows results in vials only being inject on either one of the channels but not both simultaneously. This is a limitation of the Chromeleon eWorkflow feature.
Temporary Solution:
Use a GC equipped with a sample tray. Alternatively check the sequences created by the eWorkflow and edit manually, if required.
Fix Information:

One-line Description:
Chromatogram extraction may show irregularity
Problem:
When extracting chromatograms from 3D data occasionally Chromeleon will show an error message "Data points are not sorted in ascending order". This issue occurs when the selected data rate doesn't fit on the Chromeleon 3D data grid, e.g., when the data rate is > 100Hz.
Temporary Solution:
Use a data rate that Chromeleon can map on the grid, e.g., 10Hz or 100Hz.

One-line Description:
Mixing dual injection mode and manual injections results in sequence hang
Problem:
Sequences may hang indefinitely when configured in dual injection mode and a manual injection is included in either of the sequences. No data is recorded for the manual injection.
Temporary Solution:
Do not mix manual injections and dual simultaneous injections. The latter is optimized for high throughput and should only include injections with a sampler.

FlexCube Timetable entry for column description not available
Problem:
The "initial" stages of the G4227A FlexCube method script offer a description for each valve position along with the valve position. Changing the position using the timetable, the valve position change is recorded in the script without the corresponding description.

Timestamps decimal places in method UI and method script
Problem:
The graphical method interface offers two digits for timestamps, while the method script shows three digits for the "Time" column in the various stages. Entering a time (e.g in a timetable) with two digits e.g. 3.45 in the method interface, the method script reports "Time" 3.450. Setting three digits in the "Time" in a stage of the method script e.g. 3.456 the parameter is mathematically rounded to 3.46 in the graphical method interface. The method report prints the time listed in the method script.

Pressure Unit Configuration
Problem:
The pump's configuration options allow to select between bar (default), psi, and MPa as pressure unit. This setting is then used in the graphical user interface. Regardless of configuration settings, the script always uses bar as its pressure unit.

Method Resolution Order indifferent to Module Order
Problem:
The Method resolution does not consider the pump type but only the module order. If different pump types were used in one method and the order of the module types changes in the configuration, the settings of the previously first listed pump will now be applied to the previously second listed pump and vice versa. That is, the settings will be switched if the order in the module list is switched.

ISET SolventModelDescription not available
Problem:
Method check returns a warning "Writing to method failed, as Command/Value ISET1Parameter_SolventModelDescription is not available. Verify if a parent or associated Command/Value has been defined?" when ISET is enabled in pump graphical interface.
Temporary Solution:
Set ManualSelectSolventModel=True in method script and select the Generic solvent model.

Importing defective LC pretreatment file deletes all entries without user information
Problem:
When a defective LC pretreatment file is imported using the LC method UI the result is an empty pretreatment section. An informational pop-up informing the user on the cause of the empty pretreatment is missing.
Temporary Solution:
This affects only import of defective pretreatment files. In case of a defective file recreating the script without the error is advised.

FLD spectral data shown in UV-Vis Spectra
Problem:
The FLD spectral data is stored as a 3DFIELD instead of FLField. Hence, Chromeleon Studio shows the spectral data in the UV-Vis Spectra plot and the dedicated Fluoresence Spectra plot is not populated with the data.

Method script may offer broader (min/max) ranges than graphic method interface
Problem:
In case a parameter value range (min./max.) depends on the configured option or a specific method set-up, the script offers the maximum range as the method interface offers build-in intelligence to determine these dependencies. Hence the graphical method interface may therefore offer a smaller value range as the scripted method range.

Exceptionally long UI loading times
Problem:
In rare circumstances the LC method UI loading times may be in excess of 30 seconds.
Temporary Solution:
It was found that some security software may cause the excessive loading times. In these cases, the Agilent Drivers for Chromeleon program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Agilent Technologies\Agilent Drivers for Thermo Chromeleon) including all subfolders and files should be exempted from the antivirus software scans.
