Agilent Technologies Singapore and Agilent Technologies Corporate Contributions donated S$100K (US $58K) to the Raffles Institution (RI) to support the opening of a new photonics laboratory. The Raffles Institution is a well established, premier secondary school with a strong record of developing Singapore's technical leaders. RI's excellent technical programs are strengthened by its ability to bring emerging technologies and trends into the school.
The Photonics Experiment Lab is set up with the latest state-of-the-art equipment. Through the assistance of mentors and experts
in tertiary institutions who are involved at the cutting edge of such technologies, RI pupils are introduced to these technologies at a young age. This allows the students to acquire the basic knowledge as well as undertake research programs where they perform authentic laboratory work, imbibing skills that are fundamental to R&D. Through this exposure, the students appreciate R&D’s far-reaching scope and are inspired to pursue these fields in the future.
