Agilent CrossLab sponsors one of the largest bodies of online learning available in the industry, through Agilent University. "We have more than four hundred courses available on demand, online," says Laura Cerruti, Director of Global Operations – Customer Enablement, "and we regularly consult on-site and do custom programs in the lab."
One popular way to train lab personnel has been through in-class learning at Agilent University sites. By mid-March, however, more than 400 of these events were canceled due to travel restrictions and work-at-home orders.
"For many, the dynamism of live learning is an important part of the experience," explains Laura Cerruti. "Our instructors are people who have years of experience with these technologies, and also years of experience teaching others how to use them."
In the wake of this situation, the team mobilized to begin offering instructor-led virtual courses.
These new virtual courses marry the convenience of remote access with guided training that includes personal interaction with live instructors and real-time exercises and discussion with classmates. There are 53 courses available now, and the list is growing. Courses are also available in local languages.
There are more than 200 freely available courses on-demand at Agilent University, covering a range of topics from GC and LC fundamentals, to OpenLab CDS software operation. Log on and try one out!
