- View spectral information before and during collection from the Cary 630 FTIR spectrometer or an Agilent handheld or portable FTIR system
- Process and optimize spectroscopic data with standard mathematical functions including normalization, derivatives, baseline correction, spectral arithmetic, smoothing, and peak picking
- Present complex spectral data in a meaningful way by selecting the 2D or 3D data visualization mode (e.g., contour graph, surface plot, waterfall view) best suited to extract valuable information
- Transfer of data and methods integrates MicroLab Expert seamlessly into the standard MicroLab software suite
- Identify unknown material by using the library search function, which compares the measured spectrum against a large database of known IR spectra
- Get a helping hand with the IR interpretation of spectra through a comprehensive set of customizable interpretation rules for categorizing IR bands and assigning them to particular functional groups
- Discover correlations between spectral data and sample characteristics using the optional Chemometrics and Prediction module, featuring a calibration model wizard that guides the creation and editing of quantitative calibrations models
- Perform reaction monitoring, trend analysis, and process analysis with the optional Reaction Monitoring module, featuring a simple Reaction wizard that allows the quick and easy setup of new reaction runs

Agilent Releases MicroLab 5.8, MicroLab Pharma 5.8, and MicroLab Expert 1.3
The new revision of software that powers the Cary 630 FTIR spectrometer—as well as Agilent handheld and mobile FTIR systems—is now supported on Microsoft’s latest operating system – Windows 11. The MicroLab Pharma 5.8 software now also utilizes Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Express, supported by Microsoft until 2028.
